Bon Voyage!

After 36 action packed hours in Miami, we are off to the Caribbean for the next week and a half. It’s a lovely 78 degrees here portside currently, and we are already unpacked and enjoying our first cruise libation. After the last year and a half of remodeling, we are ready for this trip!

Our 36 hours in Miami included dinner at a lovely Italian cafe, a Bay view boat tour, five miles of scenic walking, and a guided food and cultural tour in Little Havana.

I brought along my trusty cruise shorts, my fail safe way of maintaining my weight. As long as they fit, I know my weight remains stable. As often as we’ve cruised, we’ve learned lots of tricks to avoid weight gain - try on those da@n shorts every morning, always use the stairs, walk several miles around the deck in the AM, have normal-sized breakfasts and lunches, and save the cruise food splurges for dinner only. So far, so good!

  1. Those are great tips to maintain weight while on a cruise. I look forward to hearing more about your cruise when you have time to write about it. I just returned home from a wonderful river cruise in the Netherlands and Belgium. It was easy to gain weight with good food, good wines, 3 meals a day, plus 24/7 coffee, tea and cookies!
About the email subscription for the blog, Blogger has changed how to do it since I last used Blogger. Unfortunately more steps are involved to set up the Subscription gadget for it to work. I have an old Blogger blog but haven't used it for several years. If you google or look up Google Blogger Help, the instructions are there. I'll check back from time to time for your new post. Happy sailing!

    1. Natalie, firstly, my apologies for delay in responding, but the ship's wifi was sloooow, and thus I waited until we returned home to do so. Secondly, we've been looking at that same river cruise you just completed! We've done pretty much the entirety of European river cruises, from Amsterdam to Bucharest, Romania, leaving just the Douro and the Netherlands to Belgium routes to go. I love, love, love the Netherlands, so that one is atop the Douro river cruise for sure.

Thank you for the Blogger suggestion. I'll do a Google search now to try and correct.
